IAIN CARSON

Iain graduated from Strathclyde University in 1988 and has since collaborated with some of the world’s most prestigious architects including Arata Isozaki, in Berlin, Zaha Hadid’s Cardiff Bay Opera House and Benson & Forsyth’s award winning scheme for the Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. With extensive experience at a senior level in the UK and Germany he has directed several high profile housing, education, art and public projects with Allies and Morrison, including No1 Prince of Wales Road, the New Media, Arts and Graphics studios for the London Institute and the refurbishment of the London School of Contemporary Dance.

Having jointly headed up the London office of Ian Simpson and on completion of the award winning Jam Factory loft development in London. In 2001 he set up the social housing architectural practice Karakusevic Carson (KCA) with Paul Karakusevic, and while retaining an interest in KCA, Iain has recently set up Carson & Partners to be mainly focused on Architecture and Development.

At Carson & Partners Iain directs bespoke experienced project teams to work in collaboration with a large number of national and international consultants, developers, film, art and music producers mainly backed by private equity funding. Iain has also worked closely as an elected urban design advisor to the RIBA for many years and tutored at the Mackintosh School of Art, Strathclyde University in Glasgow and Aberdeen University. He is currently a visiting critic at Chelsea College of Art in London and a patron to the Arts.
